This majestic 3-feet Rishabha Vahanam is a fine representation of traditional South Indian craftsmanship, hand-carved from durable Vagai wood with painting by the skilled artisans of Karuppaiah Sculptures, Tanjore. Inspired by the divine form of Nandi, the sacred bull mount of Lord Shiva, this sculpture carries the essence of power, devotion, and artistic precision.
Meticulously detailed, the Rishabha (bull) is shown in a bold and devotional stance, adorned with intricately carved vasthram (cloth detailing) draped across its back. A beautifully sculpted bell-chain embellishes the neck and hip, symbolising purity and ritual importance. It stands on a specially crafted Padma Peedam, designed to support the idol of Lord Shiva during Pradosham processions—a sacred bimonthly observance on the 13th day of every lunar fortnight, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Traditionally used as part of the temple vahanam set for chariot processions, this sculpture also serves as a powerful decorative piece for homes, temples, and spiritual spaces. Whether placed indoors or outdoors, this Rishabha Vahanam brings an aura of strength, protection, and divine blessing.
This Rishabha Vahanam is custom-made for a company’s front interior display. We follow traditional South Indian sculpting with antique-style painting techniques.
Celebrate divine tradition and masterful craftsmanship with this one-of-a-kind wooden Pradosha Rishabha Vahanam, a timeless symbol of devotion from the heart of Tamil Nadu.
